Lupus Patient: Jackie

Although I had been diagnosed with Lupus previously, in December of 2007 my Lupus attacks of chest pain and shortness of breath hit me with a vengeance. This was the beginning of my nightmare. They tried everything they could think of that could possibly help to stop my intense pain. Nothing worked. My doctor told me there was nothing more that he could do and that most probably I would continue to suffer from intensely painful uncontrollable lupus attacks.

I thought it couldn’t get any worse, and then in May 2008 it did. The chest pains were so severe that just trying to breathe was becoming more and more difficult.

I made arrangements for the next available stem cell treatment - Saturday, May 3, 2008.

The morning after the treatment, I woke up, astonished to find myself completely pain free! I actually had trouble believing it was real. It is now over 2 years later and I have been pain free ever since that first day.

Three weeks after my stem cell treatment, I went for a follow-up appointment with my rheumatologist. He was totally amazed by my lack of symptoms. He decided to run a complete blood work on me. When he got the results back, he called me and said he was “stunned” and that he had never seen or heard of anything like this ever occurring before. All my tests came back normal!

I thank God every day for the stem cell procedure and that I am still alive.
